I knew I wanted to work in medicine from a young age, getting to watch my mom who was a nurse. She was even the school nurse at my elementary school on Long Island for a few years, which as you can imagine meant my friends and I always had support around but couldn’t get away with any nonsense. I narrowed that down further to wanting to be a doctor and was lucky enough to explore those interests at Cornell University. I figured out I wanted to be a pediatrician when I realized that most of the extracurriculars I’d chosen revolved around helping kids. It was news to me that not everyone enjoys working with kids all day!
I continued bouncing around New York, attending SUNY Downstate for medical school and then NYU for pediatric residency where I had the privilege to learn and work at both NYU’s Hassenfeld’s Children’s Hospital and Bellevue Hospital, the oldest public hospital in the United States.
My husband and I finally left New York and moved to Stamford once I found my perfect fit practice in New England Pediatrics. I feel so lucky to be able to work everyday taking care of kids from birth through college in an office that really feels like a family. In my free time you’ll probably catch me reading a book and drinking coffee around town or popping back into the city on the Metro-North.
